# Competitor research

Availability: Planned API.
Last reviewed: 2026-08-28.

Compare named competitors using dated, cited observations. The planned outcome helps you make a decision while retaining what was and was not actually researched.

## Freeze the comparison scope

Provide competitor identities or an approved discovery scope, relevant product/offer categories, markets and the comparison question. A named set is not the entire competitive landscape.

Resolve aliases and duplicate domains before attributing evidence to a competitor.

## Produce a reviewable comparison

Retain company/product identities, source references, observation time, measured attributes, gaps and contradictions. Mark inferred strategy or positioning as analysis rather than source fact.

For example, a competitor's advertised delivery promise can be compared with yours as a public claim, not proof of its actual fulfillment performance.

## Keep history meaningful

Each refresh should retain its scope and prior observations. A changed website is evidence of a change, not automatic proof that the business changed every policy. Saved result retrieval should not trigger hidden reacquisition.

## Availability

The business API is planned. Research does not authorize copying protected content, disparaging claims, outreach or automatic catalog/Store changes. Review proposed conclusions before using them in customer-facing material.
